Through creative group storytelling, you too can feel what it’s like to be the star of your story by creating your own original character. At the end of the week, students use their newly learned acting and characterization skills in a sharing for family and friends. Through imagination and creativity, you’ll learn basic theatre fundamentals and have a great time!

The students will be split into 2 groups of 15 students based on age. If you would like to request that your student be placed in the same group as their friend or sibling who may not be the same age, please send us an email at education@redmountaintheatre.org.

In preparing for a performance, students learn discipline and memorization skills that they can take with them to their scholastic work.

In this week’s camp, it’s “The Wizard of Oz”, but not as you know it.  Dotty Mae is a lonely girl who gets swept up into the mysterious land of AL.  With her new friends, she must travel to find the great Wizard who can send her home.  This southern take on a classic story includes music from the movie as well as from Wicked.

This camp will take place at the Chelsea Community Center, 11101 Hwy 47, Chelsea, AL 35043. There is no option for extended care or lunch purchase for this session.
