Theme Camp: How to Train Your Dragon
with Sam Hodges & Jackson Bradshaw
Ages: 7 - 12
June 29th - July 3rd from 9:30 am– 4:30 pm
Rising 2nd - 5th Graders
By cultivating original characters, students will become master dragon trainers in the Viking village of Berk. Through creative group storytelling, students will join Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, and all of the villagers and forge their own original character (and maybe a dragon or two). At the end of the week, students use their newly learned acting and characterization skills in a sharing for family and friends. Through imagination and creativity, you’ll learn basic theatre fundamentals and have a great time!
The students will be split into 2 groups of 15-25 students based on age. If you would like to request that your student be placed in the same group as their friend or sibling who may not be the same age, please send us an email at education@redmountaintheatre.org.

YAP Originals: The Devising Experience
Rising 4th-9th graders
M-F 9:30am-4:30pm
July 6-10, 2026
1 Performance Friday, July 10, 2026 5:00 PM (students will stay after the end of their rehearsal day)
This is an exciting 1-week summer program designed for kids (rising 4th through 9th graders) who love to create worlds and bring them to life. Devised theatre is the ultimate exercise in teamwork and creativity. Instead of starting with a script, students collaborate to transform a classic story into a new, original play. Through improvisation and group problem-solving, young artists learn how to take an idea from a spark of imagination to a fully realized performance.
All rehearsals for a Young Artist Productions are mandatory. Students will not be approved for any non-emergency absence during this production.

RMT in Chelsea: Wizard of AL Blast Camp
with Anna Lynn Starr
Ages: 9 - 14
July 13-17th from 9 am– 4 pm
Rising 4th - 8th Graders
Blast Camps are fun, week-long camps in which students put their musical theatre performance skills to the test. Through rehearsals focused on singing, acting, and dancing, students build confidence by rehearsing a short script written specifically for RMT. At the end of the week, they perform in front of a supportive community of family and friends. In preparing for a performance, students learn discipline and memorization skills that they can take with them to their scholastic work.
In this week’s camp, it’s “The Wizard of Oz”, but not as you know it. Dotty Mae is a lonely girl who gets swept up into the mysterious land of AL. With her new friends, she must travel to find the great Wizard who can send her home. This southern take on a classic story includes music from the movie as well as from Wicked.
This camp will take place at the Chelsea Community Center, 11101 Hwy 47, Chelsea, AL 35043. There is no option for extended care or lunch purchase for this session.
