Rising 2nd - 5th Graders

By cultivating original characters, students will explore the World of Super Mario! Join Mario and Luigi as they rescue Princess Peach from the clutches of King Bowser, who has kidnapped her and plunged the Mushroom Kingdom into chaos with his army of Koopas. Through creative group storytelling, you’ll travel beyond the video games and movies to create your own original character in the world of Super Mario. At the end of the week, students use their newly learned acting and characterization skills in a sharing for family and friends. Through imagination and creativity, you’ll learn basic theatre fundamentals and have a great time!

The students will be split into 2 groups of 15-25 students based on age. If you would like to request that your student be placed in the same group as their friend or sibling who may not be the same age, please send us an email at education@redmountaintheatre.org.

Budding artists let their imaginations run wild while they creatively explore theatrical storytelling. These half-day classes are designed to cultivate inventiveness as students learn the basics of theatre through collaboration and creative play. This week's camp will be a toy takeover! Join Woody, Buzz, and their friends as they take on toy-tastic adventures…but watch out, we have to FREEZE if Andy’s coming!

Your child must be able to use the bathroom unassisted.

These half-day classes are designed to cultivate inventiveness as students learn the basics of theatre through collaboration and creative play. This week's camp will focus on the adventures of Spiderman and all of his superhero pals, as they fight crime and have fun!

Through creative group storytelling, students will imagine they are scaling mountains and swimming oceans, as they create their own adventurous original character to join the story. At the end of the week, students use their newly learned acting and characterization skills in a sharing for family and friends. Through imagination and creativity, you’ll learn basic theatre fundamentals and have a great time!

Rising 4th - 8th Graders

Blast Camps are fun, week-long camps in which students put their musical theatre performance skills to the test. Through rehearsals focused on singing, acting, and dancing, students build confidence by rehearsing a short script written specifically for RMT. At the end of the week, they perform in front of a supportive community of family and friends. In preparing for a performance, students learn discipline and memorization skills that they can take with them to their scholastic work.

The Garcia sisters are a little unusual – not only are they triplets but they have magical powers. When a wish goes wrong, it transports them to one of the most magical places around: Disappearing School. They must learn about their new powers in order to set their wish right and return home.

*This Class/Camp/Production fulfills a prerequisite for auditioning for the Performing Ensembles

Rising 9th - 11th Graders

Using the audition room as a playground for growth, become your own best product.  Let our team of professionals advance your journey to being the best working artist that you can be. In this one-week intensive, you will dive deep into auditioning through focused work in singing, acting, and dancing. Take ownership of your artistic journey!

Prior to the start of camp, students must prepare:

• a 30-60 second monologue from a play they have read
• a 16-32 bar cut of a musical theatre song
• a headshot and resume

Material does not need to be polished, but rather ready to be worked.

Instructors: Tawny Stephens (Acting Technique), Daley Dressler (Song Interpretation), and TBA (Dance)

Daily Schedule:

• Dance - students will explore a variety of theatre dance styles through learning and breaking down the choreography for mock auditions.
• Acting - students will work their chosen monologue by applying different theatrical techniques.
• Song Interpretation - students will navigate the acting choices within their musical audition cut through one-on-one coaching featuring live accompaniment.
• Audition Package - These daily workshops will focus on how to achieve "Success in the Audition Room".

At the end of the week, students will participate in a mock audition where they will receive feedback from local industry professionals. There will also be a parent meeting on Friday from 3:30-4:30 pm, for those who can attend.

This week's camp will invite students to join Joy, Sadness, and all of Riley’s emotions on a journey of self-discovery as they navigate the day to day emotions of growing up.

This week's camp will incorporate everyone's favorite fashion icon, movie star and, of course, doll - BARBIE!
